MY STORY

My Past...

& How it has Shaped Me

Moving

Moving countries has really impacted who I am as a person. When I was 7 years old, my family and I moved to Australia from Vancouver, BC. It was a major change in my life, and it wasn't easy adjusting to new people, new places, and a new way of living. However, it was a really important experience that impacted the way I think about the world. At such a young age I got to experience living in a place I had never even heard of before - for four years. At the time I didn't realize how lucky I was, but I'm very grateful now to have those memories that helped me grow as a person.

Conflicts

I think the most serious conflict my family and I have faced are health/heart issues. I have cardiovascular problems on both sides of my family, so it's likely that I will face those same issues. It's easy to feel discouraged about it, but I try to use it to encourage me to live my life to the fullest and to experience as much as I can while staying positive. It has also taught me to not take for granted the people in my family who are affected by it.

Optimist

or pessimist?

I think of myself as more of an optimist. Although I definitely have distressing moments in life that feel hopeless, I try my best to stay optimistic and calm. There is just so much to look forward to in life, the world is so big and full of potential. There are so many experiences to have, so many places to visit, so many people to meet, so much to learn, and so much opportunity. What contributes most to my optimism is that there's so much to be grateful for. My optimism also stems from the idea of traveling, and my future - creating a life for myself. Right now I am very young, and I have so much ahead of me.

To your left are some photos I have chosen that make me motivated and excited for future experiences that will only come with a positive attitude and spirit.
